The first time I met little Isaiah at our Camp Allen Family Retreat in Texas, I felt as though I were looking into the face of a cherub – I shouldn't have been surprised; Isaiah is a delightful child with Down Syndrome. When I asked his older sister, Mary, about him, she beamed, “Everyone in our family has a spiritual gift, and Isaiah’s is his smile!” She’s right. Isaiah’s parents, Tom and Melanie, cultivate a strong sense of responsibility in each of their seven children, with everyone looking out for the other. The family makes a fun habit of memorizing scripture – it’s a home where God's Word really shines! (Just like Isaiah’s smile)!

God bless this precious family! I have noticed with my experience with Down Syndrome children, that they bless so many people with their glowing smiles and hugs. ALL children are a gift from the Lord!

What a beautiful photo with you, Isaiah and Mary. How blessed he was to have been born into such a loving, large, godly family. What a SMILE!! I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined onto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. AND HE HATH PUT A NEW SONG IN MY MOUTH, EVEN PRAISE ONTO OUR GOD; MANY SHALL SEE IT AND FEAR, AND SHALL TRUST IN THE LORD!! That's you, Joni. Thank you for being such a faithful servant to so many many people, all in Jesus' precious name. How I pray I would be even a fraction of such influence to those around me. Love, Karen :) :) :) Joy, Joy Joy!!! And a huge AMEN to the two comments below.

What a sweet little baby boy Isaiah seems to be! God bless his parents and siblings for the extra care they give him due to his Downs Syndrome. Thanks, Heavenly Father, for teaching us so much through the joy shown in a baby's smile.

Hi Joni & Ken, We also have a son named Isaiah:-) I like that saying:"His spiritual gift is his smile." Too often I have my Tlingit line frown. People say what are you upset about. And it's just the way my mouth goes when I'm not even mad. You help me to sing Hymns. Even Laurie's care-giver Jessica who is new to Christianity said she sings them because you help her to memorize from the JAF Cds. A Huge THANK YOU from greater rainy Seattle area♥ Psalm 29:3The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters☼
