From the Heart: Invest in Eternity

From the HeartSome people call a million-dollar painting, a Mercedes-Benz, or a dress with a $700 price tag an investment. But I say if you can’t pack it into your luggage when you step into the other side of eternity, don’t call it a lasting treasure.

Now I’m not poking fun at your great-grandmother’s silver service that’s been handed down over the years. I’m just asking for a little perspective. For if you had all the money in the world, you could not purchase a single day – it’s a 24 hour gift from God that He wants you to invest. So what should you do with this priceless possession? You invest in things that’ll last for eternity… spend your time and treasure on behalf of others… promote the Gospel, help the needy, and endow efforts that build the Kingdom of Christ!

It’s exactly what you’re doing as you pray for and give toward the ministry of Joni and Friends. Together we are making the most of every opportunity to bring people with disabilities and their families into the fold of Christ’s fellowship. One day, paintings will peel and crack, and the resale value on cars will be nil. But your patronage of the Gospel through Joni and Friends will last throughout eternity – and for that, I am so very thankful to God!
