joni and ken at the hospital for a pet scanYesterday Ken took me to the Imaging Center for my semi-annual PET scan – for me, a quadriplegic, it's an all day affair. But as we waited, Ken and I recounted the many blessings God has poured out on us in this battle against cancer – oh, the lessons we've learned, the grace we've received, and the health we treasure. Sitting there, we prayed that if there are any renegade cancer cells still floating around in my body, that this PET scan will pinpoint them. It ended up being a rather quick scan -- technology is improving all the time! And so now we wait for the results. As Andrew Murray wrote, ‘I am here (1) by God’s appointment, (2) in His keeping, (3) under His training, (4) for His time.” We'll keep you posted…

You are one of my modern day "heroes of the faith". Your smiling face and infectious hope in what waits for us on the "other side" encourages more people than you will ever know. When I get up and the pain is worse than the day before, I often think of your perseverence and thank the Lord for your witness. I am joining in prayer with you for your PET scan results. God bless you, Joni!

Oh, Joni, to live in the shelter of His wings as you do...but I'm joining with you & Ken in asking him to let the PET scan show if there are any old nasty renegade cancer cells floating around. I thank God for the faith He has given you. And thank you for the reciprocating trust you display to encourage all of us to depend on Him more. With the love of Christ - because He first loved us!

Joni: I saw your interview with Marvin Olasky at Patrick Henry. I love John Singer Sargent's art also. I am studying some of his works now in order to become a better photographer. Hope you have a good outcome with the scan. Patrick
