joni and ken with a group of kids at the idcNo doubt you heard that Joni and Friends recently held Heart for the Disabled week – listeners to Joni's radio program and readers of her blog sent in homemade Valentine cards, gift certificates, poems, copies of hymns, Scriptures, and letters of encouragement to five different special-need families. And this year was a record breaker – we received hundreds more notes and cards than in years past!

If you sent in a note, we want to thank you for participating with us to make this coming February 14 a truly memorable day for these disabled people and their families. We also want to thank the home school group from Dr. John MacArthur's Grace Community Church who dropped by to hand-deliver their homemade Valentines – thanks, boys and girls!

when this weeks shows of heart of the disabled came on I was going through a bad time w/ illness and I was going through a kind of 'feeling sorry for myself' stage. This weeks shows were truly a Godsend. It got my focus off myself and onto others and it was really nice being able to send out cards and writing the notes. Thank you for doing these show!

When I think about Valtimes day a picture of an angel comes to my mind shooting an arrow to someone's heart reminding them to show love. Love is an attitude that is shown by behavior. The spirit of love is always giving. That is my mission.

Hi Joni,I hope your speaking engagement went well tonight. Could you please pray for me(Judy)? I also suffer from chronic pain due to a mild form of Spina Bifida(splints,no wheelchair), Osteoarthritis, and Fibromyalgia, mainly affecting my shoulder blades and arms.My mom went to be with the Lord 2 weeks ago from a year-long battle w/ Stage 4 Breast Cancer. We lived together,as I cared for her.The house is SO quiet now! Anyway, the grieving process is exascerbated by my physical pains and I am asking for prayer,if you would that God touches my body AND my heart, in helping me deal w/the loss of Mom and handling my physical pains.Mom was just 4 monyhs old in the Lord when He called her Home.Susan(Mom) was 69. Thank you!!

I am a parent of a special needs son. I know for a fact that what you are doing for Valentines Day, Is a really great thing! Alot of times, I know my son feels like Normal kids don't understand him and don't care. They are mean. I appreciate those that do try to make a difference in these kids lives. Thank You Sooo Much!!!
