francie and joniEven though I am always mindful of the way God healed me from breast cancer, the idea of it recurring simply doesn't enter my mind. Which is why Ken and I are always grateful for every six-month checkup that brings a good report. We just received such a report from our doctor. Smiling big, we read those sweet words on my PET scan, "no evidence of disease." One year down, four more to go, and I can be declared cancer free. :-). So rejoice with us! And join us in thanking God for the unbelievable measure of energy and good health I'm enjoying these days (part of that regimen includes drinking LOTS of water as Francie, my secretary, gets ready to give me a swig)! It's going to be a fantastic year of outreach at Joni and Friends, and I’m feeling fit to tackle a hefty ministry load (that’s largely attributed to your earnest prayers, and I thank you for that)!

Joni So glad to hear that you are doing well!! I believe the Lord has healed you to be a great testimony of His healing power. I know this disease will never return again! Nahum I:9 Love the picture you posted. Women don't realize how very important it is to drink water, and eat veggies and fruit. I am also a survivor and believe God is so good. Share Hope and God bless you.

I am so glad to hear you are cancer free, Joni! I remember reading your post that you had been diagnosed with it, and had been wondering what how things had gone with it. I am glad to see that you are now healed! Praise God! I want to say "that's great", but that wouldn't do it justice! It is SPECTACULAR! :):):)

I love your post. 15 years ago this month i was diagnosed with stage IIB breast cancer... went through mastectomy and chemotherapy, lost my hair.. survived it and became closer to the Father through the "journey". I have been and will continue to pray with/for you. 9 years ago my husband and I became Wycliffe Bible Translators and serve at Wycliffe USA, supporting the translators by our work here. Blessings to you, dear Friend.

Dear Joni, You are an inspiration to me. I am an eleven year breast cancer survivor, having had cancer in 1996 and a relapse in 2001. I have now been totally cancer free for 6 years. Through your ministry, I know that this "irritation" made me a much better person and made me focus on what is so important in life, my savior Jesus Christ. PTL Terry Herman Lewiston, Idaho

Praise the Lord for your encouraging health news!! I have followed you and your ministry for many years, and have used your inspirational "story" (for lack of a better word!) as the foundation of my Christmas newsletter for a number of years, frequently summarizing with the lyrics to one of your beautiful Christmas songs. My prayer is that one day I will have the HONOR to meet you in person. I can think of NO other person on this earth who has inspired me as much as you have over the years. May the Lord continue to bless you and your ministry!
