Twice a week, Rosea travels two hours on a bus in the Domincan Republic so 6-year-old Fernando can receive therapy for his cerebral palsy. She pays for the therapy and a little food by taking in laundry at her home. “We are very poor,” she explained, “but Fernando is my life.” Recently your love pierced that humble household with the richness of God’s tender mercy and practical, hands-on love. A shiny black wheelchair was adapted to fit Fernando perfectly and a Gospel bracelet was used to explain the gift of eternal life to mother and son. Both received the Good News with eager, hungry hearts. Both were filled to overflowing with the gifts God sent through you. “Today I am taking the peace and love you have brought us into my poor home – and now it is a rich home,” cried Rosea through tears of joy. “God is in our hearts now because of your love!”
