You Are an Encouragement to Me!

Joni Eareckson TadaI just had to tell you how grateful to God I am for the encouragements you shared on my recent blog post about the anniversary of my diving accident. I was amazed to learn how my life story has not only strengthened your walk with Christ, but I was blessed to see how many opened their hearts to Jesus as a result of the Joni book! And so, my perspective on my wheelchair is best summed up by this timeless quote from Abraham Wright…

“I am mended by my sickness, enriched by my poverty, and strengthened by my weakness…. Thus was it with Manasseh who, in his affliction, “sought the Lord his God”: even that king’s iron was more precious to him than his gold; his jail a more happy lodging than his palace; Babylon a better school than Jerusalem. What fools are we, then, to frown upon our afflictions! These trials – no matter how frustrating – are our best friends. They are not for our pleasure, they are for our profit.”

May your perspective on your afflictions be the same, friend!
