Christian Book Awards

Whenever I write a book, my heart's desire is to draw readers into a closer, more intimate friendship with Jesus. And it's pretty encouraging when that desire is confirmed by top publishers. Today, I learned the news that A Spectacle of Glory won first place in the Devotion Book Category of the 2017 Christian Book Awards. This was just announced by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association and all winners represent the best Christian book and Bible releases of the year (for the full announcement, visit their website). Needless to say, given that A Spectacle of Glory was in a crowded field alongside other well-deserving devotional books, I am overwhelmed and humbled by the honor. To me, it demonstrates that readers long for deep insights on suffering, how to deal with it, and the comfort and encouragement that can be mined from God's Word. Visit our online store for your copy of A Spectacle of Glory.

I have just read Catherine Mackenzies book "Swimming Against the Tide" & I would like to thank Joni for the insight God has given me through reading about her life. I look forward to reading "A Spectacle of Glory" which I hope will inspire me to trust God more & more & myself less & less as I struggle with chronic illness. I have become very isolated during the last 10 years because of increasing limitation, imposed on my life by autoimmune disease. I have known Jesus for a long time but only recently have I realised that there is so much more of Him to know. Thank you Joni for reminding me that there will come a day when He has promised us that He will restore the years that the locusts have eaten and renew our strength. I look forward to my new body which he has promised me, one that will be free of pain (& reliance on opiate painkillers), one in which I will be able to run & not grow weary! Thank you for reminding me to look to Him & not at my current circumstances. My hope is in Him, thank you Joni that you are blazing a trail for us all to follow 💐🕊
