Josie's StoryEven though weeks have passed since our summertime season of Family Retreats, the memories remain fresh and bright. Just what inspires a kid about Family Retreat? Take a minute to listen to little Josie describe her week at our Joni and Friends/New England Family Retreat. For disabled kids and their siblings, there’s no place like a Joni and Friends’ Family Retreat! So pass on the word to a special...

Collecting WheelchairsRecently I was in Connecticut to thank WIHS Christian Radio on nearly 15 years of holding annual wheelchair collection drives – they’ve collected well over 7,000 wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. Thankfully, a local construction company provides this warehouse for...

NIV Zondervan Study BibleI'm a big fan of Dr. D.A. Carson who is one of the founders of The Gospel Coalition (my favorite blog-spot to peruse on Sunday afternoons)! Recently Dr. Carson completed editing for the new NIV Zondervan Study Bible, and I am loving digging through his notes and comments. His reflections in II Corinthians 12 on the relationship between God's power and human weakness are fantastic. If you’re looking for a new study Bible, I would highly recommend this one.

From left to right: Joe Joe, Dominik, Allie, Joni, and JudahOkay, that's Joe Joe and his brother Dominick (on the left, both in wheelchairs), and their sister Allie – they are the children of Jessica, our newest docent at the International Disability Center. Jessica and her kids attended a Joni and Friends Family Retreat this summer and the children absolutely LOVED it! Now they want their friend, Judah, and his parents to attend next summer (he's the little guy in that bright yellow wheelchair :-). Jessica met Judah and his mother at her local child development center – so thank you, Jessica, for 'spreading the word' about Family Retreats! And hey if you’d like to hear more about my special visit with Judah and his friends, visit my radio page and check out today’s 5-minute radio program.

Wheelchair BagEvery little girl would love to have a big “purse” on the back of her new wheelchair. It's a great place to not only hold all your favorite things, but the gift of your new Bible from Wheels for the World. A wheelchair bag ties neatly to the handles and has room to carry lots of items (it's a little extra gift we like to provide to our wheelchair recipients whenever these bags are available). So, if you love sewing or if the women in your church's “sewing circle” are interested in a new project, I encourage you to download this printout for instructions on how to create these wonderful wheelchair and walker...

Every month we gather for birthday cake in the break area here at the International Disability Center. So may I say ‘Happy Birthday’ to a lot of my friends and co-workers here at the ministry – onward and upward, gang, into the New Year God has in store for us!

Joni and Ken celebrating Joni's 66th birthdayCan you believe it? This month, I’m celebrating my 66th birthday! As I reach another milestone year, I am praising God for His grace that has brought me this far – all the way to 66. I'm breaking all sorts of spinal-cord injury statistics, which I credit all to God’s grace. I really want to drum up praise to Him for His faithfulness to me these many years I've lived as a quadriplegic, so to celebrate, I’m using my 66th birthday and my Live It Out Campaign page to reach even more people affected by disability. My birthday goal is to provide at least 66 wheelchairs through...

Noujain MustaffaMost of us are aware of the massive emigration of Syrian refugees escaping ISIS and flooding into Europe. Ken and I have been praying over this crisis...

A Grave Decision for Californians!Today, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a dangerous bill making CA the fourth state to legalize assisted suicide. Gov. Brown said he signed the bill because he wouldn't want to be "dying in prolonged and excruciating pain" in his final days — regardless of the fact that pain relief is readily available without killing patients. But the truth is pain is not among the top reasons for why people choose assisted...
