Because of his disability, he is ridiculed by the men in his village. But after receiving a crutch and hearing the Gospel at a Wheels for the World distribution, he has found hope and comfort in Christ. Cause 4 Life Web Series: A Sister's Sacrifice
Born with a disability, 3-year-old Jared was neglected, starved, and abandoned by his father. But with the condition that Jared’s 7-year-old sister Rebekah serve as caretaker, the children were taken in by their grandparents. Although Rebekah loves her brother and does a good job taking care of him, she is unable to attend school and is forfeiting her opportunity to get an education for his sake. Follow our Cause 4 Life team as they discover that Jared and Rebekah's grandmother does not work and advocate for the children, working out a plan that would allow Rebekah the opportunity to go to school.
Cause for Life Web Series: Go Out Quickly
On their first home visit in rural northern Uganda, our Cause 4 Life team meets 16-year old Francis. Because of Francis’ disability, his parents have rejected him and left him to be cared for by his grandmother. As our interns show love and value to Francis, they also teach his grandmother basic health and communication techniques, encouraging her with truth from Luke 14: when she serves little Francis, she is serving God directly.
A Young Leader is Equipped for Global Impact
Prayer opens doors – just ask Jenny Romanow! Jenny is pursuing a Master’s Degree in developmental disabilities. But she was looking for a way to merge her profession with her faith. The Joni and Friends internship program was God’s answer to her prayer. Through the internship program, Joni and Friends’ Christian Institute on Disability equips college students and young professionals for Christian leadership in disability ministry.
