Joni and Friends Cause 4 Life interns walk in the footsteps of Jesus as they minister God’s heart to people with disability in Uganda. In the latest episode of the Cause 4 Life Love.Heal.Defend. web series, Cause 4 Life interns visit Dennis, a recent Wheels for the World wheelchair recipient. As the team meets with Dennis, a group of children from the local village swarm the interns. Watch as they take this opportunity to lead worship and demonstrate the special value God places on children like Dennis.

Because of his disability, he is ridiculed by the men in his village. But after receiving a crutch and hearing the Gospel at a Wheels for the World distribution, he has found hope and comfort in Christ. Born with a disability, 3-year-old Jared was neglected, starved, and abandoned by his father. But with the condition that Jared’s 7-year-old sister Rebekah serve as caretaker, the children were taken in by their grandparents. Although Rebekah loves her brother and does a good job taking care of him, she is unable to attend school and is forfeiting her opportunity to get an education for his sake. Follow our Cause 4 Life team as they discover that Jared and Rebekah's grandmother does not work and advocate for the children, working out a plan that would allow Rebekah the opportunity to go to school.

On their first home visit in rural northern Uganda, our Cause 4 Life team meets 16-year old Francis. Because of Francis’ disability, his parents have rejected him and left him to be cared for by his grandmother. As our interns show love and value to Francis, they also teach his grandmother basic health and communication techniques, encouraging her with truth from Luke 14: when she serves little Francis, she is serving God directly.
