Cause 4 Life Intern Michael Panther

I love watching the progress of our former disability ministry interns — like Michael Panther, from our 2014 Cause 4 Life class of interns. Paralyzed during the civil war in South Sudan, Michael first learned about my story when he watched the Joni movie in a Kenyan hospital. He hoped one day to be able to meet “this Christian lady in a wheelchair.” Eventually, Michael found his way to America (and to Louisiana State University) through a generous sponsor — shortly thereafter, he learned about Joni and Friends and our Cause 4 Life internships.

Michael felt God was calling him to use his experiences to reach out to people with disabilities like himself with the hope and love of Jesus. And so, he quickly signed up for one of our internships. Once he graduated from Cause 4 Life, Michael moved to Indiana where he has helped establish a thriving disability ministry at Faith Church. He’s even served as a wheelchair mechanic on a Wheels for the World trip to Peru! This young man is nothing short of amazing — so, take a moment to watch his video and be inspired. And then, tell someone about Cause 4 Life!
