doug and joni with her wilberforce awardwilberforce award

Ken and I arrived home late last night after four exciting days near Washington DC for the Wilberforce Weekend — the events centered around promoting a biblical worldview on the sanctity of life, the institution of marriage, and religious liberties (I am so grateful for Chuck Colson and his excellent team who are working hard to educate and inform Christians on how to ‘win’ an unbelieving public to a Christ-centered perspective on these issues…for more information, read the Manhattan Declaration…and sign it! :-). When I wheeled into the office this morning, the first thing I did was show Doug Mazza, president of Joni and Friends, the actual Wilberforce award which I received; and I do so in the spirit of 1 Peter 3:15-16, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” Yep, that should be us Christians, whether it’s talking about religious liberties, life and marriage, or winning people to Christ!

Watch this video tribute to Joni, the 2012 recipient of the Wilberforce Award.
