Every father has dreams for his children—dreams of sports, graduations, first dates, and careers for their son or daughter. But what happens when a father hears the words of a physician, “Your son has Down syndrome,” or “I am sorry, but your daughter has only months to live”? For many men, parenting a child with a disability is a tremendous challenge—maybe the biggest challenge they’ve ever had to face. Doug Mazza and Steve Bundy know this well. As fathers of children with severe disabilities, they know what it’s like to go from one doctor’s appointment to the next, to wrestle to keep a marriage intact in the midst of emotional turmoil, and to go before the throne of God with a heavy heart. It’s why they wish to open their hearts and share with you their insights through their new book, Another Kind of Courage. Whether you are the dad of a special needs child or someone who knows one, we invite you to watch this short video of Doug and Steve, as they express how God has used their circumstances to draw them closer to Him and to their families. It’s a message that will encourage any parent, so take a look at it and then share it with your friends and relatives.
