Bethany KidsI love whenever I hear there’s a tour of students from a Christian school visiting the IDC – many of these students pray for our outreach at Joni and Friends, and as they’ve grown older, some have even volunteered at a few Family Retreats! Recently, young people from Bethany Christian School came for a return visit...

UgandaMy friends, Adrienne and Francis Mugwanya, often help us when either Wheels for the World or our Cause4Life interns travel to Uganda. They have an outreach in Uganda called The Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry, and they love helping us distribute wheelchairs, Bibles, and Joni books to Ugandans with disabilities...

ASOGGod created you and me for one purpose: to showcase His glory — to enjoy it, display it, and demonstrate it every day to everyone we encounter. What does it mean to put His glory on display? It means making hard choices to do the right thing. Keeping your tongue from gossiping, going out of your way for a neighbor in need, not snapping back when someone hurts you, or speaking openly about your Father in heaven...

Prop 106On Election Day, November 8, voters in Colorado will decide on Proposition 106, the "End-Of-Life Options Act." The bill is patterned after existing laws in Oregon, California, and other states. One slogan I've heard among the proponents of Proposition 106 goes "An assisted dying law would not result in more people dying, but in fewer people suffering."  Slogans like that sound catchy, but clever phrases can be deceptive...

WFTWPeople affected by disability in less-developed countries often face serious health problems due to lack of therapy, inadequate housing and care, and ill-fitting wheelchairs – that is, if they have a wheelchair at all! But that's why Wheels for the World is such an important ministry of Joni and Friends. Since 1992, Wheels for the World has given more than 100,000 wheelchairs to those affected by disability around the globe, and our goal is to give out 100,000 more by 2020! This fall and winter, we are holding a number of Wheels for the World outreaches, and your prayers will help make them successful!...

Jean DriscollBack in the 1990s, Jean Driscoll (many times a gold medalist in the Paralympics) traveled on a Wheels for the World trip to Ghana – we challenged her to introduce wheelchair athletics to the disabled in that developing nation. Recently, the NCAA Big Ten Network produced a 9 minute documentary on Jean's work in Africa, and just recently it won an Emmy award! Take a minute to be inspired by this award-winning production...

ASOGFinally, after months of prayer, research, writing and revisions, I am pleased to tell you that my new daily devotional book A Spectacle of Glory is now released. It's full of fresh insights that I gleaned from my recent battle against cancer, and my daily struggle with pain. During hard days, I made my spirit ‘come into alignment’ with the Lord, knowing that His purpose in my pain is that I might glorify Jesus. Just what does that look like?

Chair CorpsFor years, Forrest Riddle has been collecting wheelchairs for our Wheels for the World outreach. Not only does he collect chairs, but he loves teaching people in his church and community about disability awareness. Through his efforts, he has raised a lot of funds for Wheels, and recently he came to our International Disability Center to present his latest gift. I have been trying to talk him into serving on a Wheels for the World team, but Forrest insists his giftedness remains on the ‘front end’ collecting chairs! We are thankful for Forrest and the other 340...
