cause 4 life internsMinistering among special-needs families is one of the most rewarding experiences you could possibly enjoy! It’s why we encourage you to consider signing up for one of our Cause 4 Life internships. There are lots of opportunities posted on our Cause 4 Life page, but we want to especially highlight our Cause 4 Life Missions and Ministry Academy this coming summer. MA is designed to energize a new generation of Christian leaders for global missions, social justice and advocacy on behalf of people affected by disability around the world. MMA is an eight-week internship that will truly change your life. You’ll experience classes and lectures with disability experts, hands-on service at the Joni and Friends International Disability Center, participating in local church ministries, serving at our southern California Joni and Friends’ Family Retreat and, finally, a disability-mission trip to Haiti. Scholarships are even available, so pray about joining us!

joni and ken at dallas theological seminaryWhen Joni recently spoke at Dallas Theological Seminary, the student response was amazing (Joni was at DTS to draw attention to the disability ministry class which our JAF Christian Institute on Disability helped design… she is pictured here with Prof. Daniel Thomson and Dr. Larry Waters, instructors). If you'd like to hear what energized these students, listen to her message. But don't just hear it; get on board doing it! Joni and Friends is currently registering interns for our Cause 4 Life Ministry and Missions Academy, an eight-week course from June 11-August 3 which includes classroom studies at the IDC, serving hands-on at our Southern California Family Retreat, and finally, traveling with us to Haiti to minister the love of Christ to those with disabilities. The purpose of Cause 4 Life is to equip today’s next-generation leaders for disability ministry, missions, and advocacy (scholarships available). Interested? Our Wheels team serving in Jordan is seeing much fruit for their efforts – team leaders Gene and Monique write, "As we fit wheelchairs to children with disabilities, it's a privilege to work side-by-side with Jordanians, spreading the vision of good care for those with special needs. It was also a joy to have a young pastor from East Amman bring a number of disabled people from his neighborhood. As we help him help his neighbors, it is good to know that he will continue to encourage them...
