Through the Roof

At Joni and Friends, we love to reflect on God’s good works, and this year we’ve been celebrating quite a few milestones: 50 years in my wheelchair and 35 years of our radio outreach. But we’re not the only ones celebrating anniversaries. Through the Roof, our good friends and charter ministry partners in the UK, are also rejoicing in 20 years of service. Since 1997, TTR has equipped, empowered, and resourced churches to fully include people with disabilities — they also partner with Wheels for the World, taking wheelchairs and Bibles into Kenya. Because of their ministry, countless lives have been transformed and that is reason to rejoice. So they held an anniversary party! The party even included an innovative balloon sculpture. Do you recognize it? It’s the four friends carrying their paralyzed buddy to see Jesus (and they had to rip up a roof to do it, too) — it’s where Through the Roof got its name.

What a perfect illustration of friends bringing the disabled to Jesus — and you are one of those friends. So, thank you for the prayers you lift up on behalf of Joni and Friends, and bless you for the finances you give, or the way you reach out to those with disabilities in your circle of influence. Together we are making a difference. Just like those four friends!
